Eating my way through Buffalo (Part II)
On my second night in Buffalo my friends brought to a place called Blue Monk.
Although their beers were city prices (and not the buffalo prices that blew my mind) they had an awesome selection of craft beer and their menu even suggested what beers to drink with each dish.
I shared an order of duck poutine which was an interesting change from the poutine i’ve had in the past which was usually a simple cheese curd and gravy snack. These frites were fried in duck fat, covered with duck gravy AND duck confit and a large amount of cheese curds that melted beautifully over the whole thing.

The highlight was the muscles. They were the best muscles I’ve ever had. they were in a sauce mad of bacon, blue cheese and caramelized leeks and there was even a separate chamber in the dish just for dipping the huge hunk of bread it came with. I just hope these muscles haven’t ruined all other muscles in the world for me from now on…

Eating my way through Buffalo, NY
This blog series is about the food and drink I consumed far too much of in Buffalo (and surrounding areas)
The city doesn’t have the greatest rep. but I had a great time because the whole time I was with friends, eating and drinking. What more can you want?
To begin, I bring you half of the taps at the bar my friend Dan works at in Lewiston. All $4 (or so) and most of them craft. They were amazing and so were the 25 cent wings we indulged in on Monday night.
Stay tuned for the Buffalonian food!
Pure and simple perfection. Nothing like a deep fried potato.
